The Lonely Island is an American comedy group made up of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffe, and Jorma Taccone. The three are best known for their comedic music and came to light due to their work on the American TV programme Saturday Night Live. The band has used this platform to help them get features on their songs from some of the biggest names in music such as Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Justin Timberlake to name a few. Although their songs are written purely for comedic value doesn’t mean they are not successful, the fact that they have over 1 billion views on their YouTube page proves this.
