Another "Smart Phone" gaming FAD takes form in the shape of 4 Pictures 1 Word. Although the game has not experienced it's demise yet, there have been various predecessors that have witnessed their shelf life come to an end. However on a less negative note, let us enjoy the greatness of 4 Pictures 1 Word...

The logic of the game is simple; observe four pictures and work out what the common denominator is and answer in 1 word. Simple you say? well, you couldn't be more wrong. As the levels progress, the game becomes increasingly harder, which prompts many to screenshot the level of their difficulty and share it on social media sites for friends to provide an answer (I wonder what action was taken 50 years ago to solve difficulty in a game of Trivial Pursuit without the benefit of social media....)

How long the 4 Pictures 1 Word FAD will last? who knows. If anything, it improves the vocabulary and the ability to draw correlations between 4 pictures, therefore it could be loosely considered as "educational". Therefore, here's hoping it survives longer than others!
