Flash Mobs

A flash mob is where a group of people get together suddenly in a public place and perform a random act, normally an organised dance routine. The first ever flash mobs were created by a guy called Bill Wasik in Manhattan in 2003 and then went on to be a huge internet phenomenon. The majority of the UK became aware of the term flash mob when the mobile phone company T-Mobile used them in their adverts in 2009. T-Mobiles renditions of the flash mob have over 40 million views on YouTube, pretty impressive! Although a few years back flash mobs were popular I bet you can’t think of the last time you witnessed one?! Just like with every internet phenomenon something new and more exciting will come along in a couple of months and make it irrelevant.

Take a look of one of T-Mobiles flash mobs.
